Jefferson County is seeking an Appraiser. Job responsibilities include administrative and supervisory work in the Appraiser’s office as well as the annual valuation of all real and personal property within the County. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, fiscal management experience, proven leadership, decision-making and planning skills. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. CAE, RES, RMA or General Certification from the Kansas Real Estate Appraisal Board is required as well as three years of appraisal experience including experience in the mass appraisal of real property. Applicants must be qualified by the Director of Property Valuation as eligible County Appraisers and meet all Kansas Statutory requirements. Pre-employment screening for physical capacity, drug, hearing and vision is required. The position will remain open until filled.

Douglas County is accepting applications for a GIS Technician in the GIS Division of the IT Department. Duties include: general mapping support; respond to requests for information, maps, records and other related material from other county staff, outside agencies and the general public; operate a variety of mapping equipment and software; and work on special projects as assigned. Equivalent to high school diploma with at least (2) years of formal education or technical training in GIS, cartography, engineering, drafting, or related fields, with a thorough knowledge of computer operations and software. College degree preferred. Experience with ArcGIS 10.x software and COGO methods preferred. Minimum beginning salary is $30,929.00 with excellent benefits. Submit application and resume online at
