Information Systems Analyst (Public Works, Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS)

The successful candidate will perform Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support for the Unified Government (UG) Asset Management team within Public Works (PW). The position is responsible for the maintenance and development of PW GIS and asset data. Duties include interpreting complex construction and survey plans, importing digital submissions to the UG GIS/Lucity environment, managing as-built plan documents and their association to spatial features. Researches and resolves moderately complex GIS related problems: transforming data from other systems (CAD/MicroStation), manipulating database files, interprets aerial photography, analyzes cadastral and street map information, and designs data collection applications. The position works with all Public Works divisions and supports various interdepartmental UG programs/projects. Fulfill map and GIS data requests from internal and external customers. Provides GIS and Lucity support to Public Works staff, trains other PW editors, and maintains editing standards and workflows. Provides tier 1 IT support for Android tablets used in the fields by various departments. The position will exercise independent judgment and action in supporting the development, maintenance, and application of the UG’s GIS and asset management systems and data.
