The Franklin County Appraiser’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time GIS Coordinator. Position is responsible for coordination, development and support of the County geographic information system (GIS) utilizing selected software, selected data base technology and multiple workstations. Performs work of considerable difficulty, helps develop and implement GIS procedures and policies, and actively works for easier access to County records by departments and the public. This position reports directly to the County Appraiser. Qualified applicants will have knowledge of: • Cartographic methods, practices, and Property Valuation Division mapping specifications • Cadastral mapping practices, coordinate geometry, legal document recordation processing and reading legal descriptions; • Database and Geodatabase editing; • GIS programs including current ArcGIS PRO, Arc GIS Online, and SQL Servicer; • Interagency GIS Coordination with regard to HG911, parcel data, aerial photography; Required Education/or Experience: • Associate’s degree or equivalent • Two to three years related experience and/or training • Any equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Education/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university • Four to Five years related experience and/or training • Any equivalent combination of education and experience
