This course expands upon the fundamentals introduced in KAM's beginner-level ArcGIS Online class that was offered in 2019 and 2020. Topics to be covered:

  • ArcGIS Online – Get a quick overview/review and then move right into Users (create, types, permissions) and Groups (add users, share data).
  • Survey123 – Learn how to create a survey, collect data, view it in ArcGIS Online, and create customizable reports. We will start with the Survey123 website version and then introduce the Survey123 Connect desktop app to show the additional capabilities and possibilities.
  • Dashboard – Create a dashboard with the Survey123 data collected from ArcGIS Online. Dashboards are great tools to share and monitor data, and visualize trends. We will take a look at the options which include maps, lists, charts, and gauges in their ready to use format.
  • Experience Builder – Get an overview of Esri's latest online tool. We will then roll the surveys and dashboards we’ve created in class into Experience Builder to tie everything together.

As time allows we will cover ArcGIS Pro items like publishing maps/services and using data from AGOL in Pro.

Required: Attendee needs to have an ArcGIS Online account with either a Creator or Publisher level role.

Recommended Prerequisite: KAM's course entitled Introduction to ArcGIS Online or an equivalent understanding of ArcGIS Online terminology, uses, and capabilities. Please contact kamappers@gmail.com if you have any concerns about your ability to take this class.

  • Online (Registered attendees will receive log-in instructions)

This half-day workshop will get participants started with Arcade, the proprietary expression language developed by Esri for use in ArcGIS products. Designed with the novice in mind, the first part of the class will focus on the basic structure of the language, including syntax, constants, and functions. As the morning progresses, we will delve deeper into creating code with exercises that draw on real-world scenarios. The format for the class will lean heavily on the ArcGIS Online platform, but the lessons will translate to code development in ArcGIS Pro as well. Participants will be provided a temporary ArcGIS Online Organizational student account for use during the class (Courtesy of the City of Lawrence, KS).

Recommended Prerequisite: A working knowledge of ArcGIS Online is recommended. No coding experience required, but will be useful.
