JOB DESCRIPTION:

Public Works is seeking an Insights & Solutions Developer to operationalize asset data for informed capital planning, streamlined field data collection, and efficiencies in daily operations. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert on work order and project management data for the Unified Government (UG) Asset Management team within Public Works (PW). The position supports the implementation of our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and geographic information systems (GIS) users. Providing database administration for several core Public Works software, the role focuses on data design, integration challenges, and coordinating system upgrades. From field crews to UG administration and the public, the position will build and maintain data pipelines to facilitate improved customer service and public information sharing. The position will also customize ArcGIS Portal data, apps, and maps to meet the needs of public works.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science Geography, or related field or any combination of equivalent experience and education which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Five years of experience as a database administrator. Two years of experience and training in the use of GIS software (preferably ESRI ArcGIS Pro) and necessary hardware. Advanced information technology troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of GIS and CMMS use within a utility or government organization is preferred. Desired software knowledge: Lucity (Central Square) or other CMMS, Access, SQL, Python, Crystal Reports, ESRI Suite; ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Excel, Notepadd++, basic HTML. Map document/map services design skills. Experience in field survey data collection. Interested in predictive analytics and machine learning. Must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s license. Must be a resident of Wyandotte County or willing to relocate within 12 months from date of hire. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Salary Range: $28.76 - $39.25/hr.
