Essential Functions

Performs technical services for the design/analysis of fiber networks, long-haul telecommunication projects, and additional company project needs

Works across project teams to understand clients, project objectives and be a value-added member of the team, offering suggestions for improvement, meeting deadlines, and performing quality work

Develops a basic knowledge of general Fiber Optic network design for both city deployment and long-haul connections, as well as telecom utility construction standards

Analyzes efficient routing and construction techniques for feasibility, digitizes physical features for base map purposes, determines and digitizes right-of-way (ROW) from plan sets, labels and dimensions permit for submittal

Utilizes software to identify and access quality routing option

Develops an understanding of other city/county utility design and implications to fiber routing

Some travel to project sites for fielding purposes may be required

Possesses an understanding of the OSP/ISP discipline and its design process, or is willing to learn that discipline through work experience

Uses knowledge to work independently. However, uses good judgment in seeking help/answers to questions from project supervisor when necessary

Shows continued and progressive professional development inside and outside of BHC

Demonstrates a client focus and works to help our clients be successful.
