Summary:
This position will be responsible for maintaining a Geographic Information System (GIS). This includes digitization of spatial asset data from various sources to produce digital online, interactive and printed mapping products. Collection, analysis and interpretation of geospatial data to answer questions, identify patterns and produce insightful information that aids decision making. This position requires technical expertise, analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:GIS Analyst duties include interpretation, data collection, digitization and analysis of assets and plats for online mapping. Staff perform data entry of pertinent structural details, calculate complex mathematical and logarithmic equations for engineering projects, develop reporting, and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned area. Providing technical support to staff within the Municipal Services and Operations Department.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in geography or closely related field. Two (2) years of experience with GIS software required. Prefer experience with ArcGIS (Pro), AutoCAD, computer drafting and engineering principles. Experience in asset management principles or systems (Cityworks, Lucity) is a bonus. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and pass the post-offer City background check, physical and drug screen.
This position is an on-site position with the potential of some remote work.
Hourly rate: $27.57 to $30.40 depending upon qualifications
